More room for female goalkeepers: our professional development days and the DFB’s new girls’ programme

Development is growing – goalkeeping remains a gap

The DFB is expanding talent development for girls: there are now eleven performance and talent development centres in the girls’ youth sector, five of them added in 2026. For boys there are 58 nationwide. The stated goal of the DFB’s women’s and girls’ talent development programme: no blind spots – every girl should have a development centre within reach.

There is still some way to go. And especially in goal, the most specialised position on the pitch, many girls lack focused training at their clubs.

Professional development days for female goalkeepers

That is why Elite GK Coaching on Tour offers dedicated professional development days for female goalkeepers – compact one- or two-day formats, with girls’ groups and a clear focus on technique, positioning and self-confidence.

Two girls camps already

After our first girls-only camp at Pentecost 2026, our Girls Goalkeeper Camp “She Keeps The Game” took place at FT Starnberg 09 on 10 and 11 October 2026 – for female goalkeepers from U13 to U23.

Tom Deppisch, Head Coach

Tom is a goalkeeper coach with many years of experience and works in the DFB’s talent identification programme. He knows what matters in developing young female goalkeepers and brings that knowledge straight onto the pitch – technically precise, motivating and at eye level.

A complement to club training

Our training days complement training at the club, the regional base or the performance centre – they are no replacement. We want to help talented female goalkeepers receive support even where no suitable offer exists yet.
